ABOUT THE COURSE
Contemporary Challenges of African American Muslims This course covers the historical and philosophical Islamic development of African American Muslims. The student will explore the African American Muslim experience beginning from those Muslims who accompanied European explorers, early attempts by enslaved and post enslavement Africans and their descendants to reclaim the religion of Islam, and issues and challenges of contemporary African American Muslims.
