Marlene Kropf, D.Min.
Marlene Kropf is William B. Oglesby, Jr. Professor of Pastoral Theology. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oregon College of Education as well as the Master of Arts in Teaching from that institution. After teaching English language and literature for several years in Oregon as well as in Jamaica, she became Minister of Christian Education with the Mennonite Board of Congregational Ministries in Indiana. Following several years of liturgical study at the University of Notre Dame, she received her Master of Divinity from the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana, and thereby became Minister of Worship and Spirituality on the staff of the Mennonite Board of Congregational Ministries. From 2002-2010 she served in that same role with Mennonite Church USA. In 1992 she was ordained for church wide ministry. From 1986-2012 she served on the faculty of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary as Associate Professor of Spiritual Formation and Worship and also as spiritual director for students. She holds the Doctor of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation. In 2009, Dr. Kropf delivered the Runcie lecture, was made a Fellow of the GTF and was awarded the Doctor of Divinity honoris causa.
