ABOUT THE COURSE
The course deepens the understanding of mental disorders in athletes through an existential and logotherapeutic perspective. It focuses on the distinction between psychogenic and noogenic
disorders and the importance of loss of meaning as the core of many psychological distresses in sport. The student learns how suffering, guilt, burnout, injuries and the end of a career are
not just symptoms, but opportunities for spiritual growth and transformation. Special emphasis is placed on the integration of medical, psychological and existential approaches and on
therapeutic work that sees the person beyond the diagnosis.
