SLO 507 Ethics and Professional Responsibility in a Sports Environment

Faculty: Dr. Klemen Kobal (Profile)

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course addresses ethical dilemmas, responsibility and integrity of the therapist in a complex and hierarchical sports system. The student explores the boundaries between the well-being of
the athlete, the demands of the club and the pressure of results, and learns to recognize conflicts of loyalty, power, abuse of power and the dangers of dual relationships. Special emphasis is
placed on the protection of confidentiality, the legal framework (GDPR, licensing, legislation) and the ethical use of data in a multi-stakeholder environment. The course strengthens the ability to reflect on the role of the therapist as a “moral compass” of the team, protecting human dignity from instrumentalization. The goal is to create a personal code of ethics and a professional attitude that enables responsible action in top-level sport.
