KIC 503 Moving Beyond the Creation Debate
Faculty: Dr. Timothy Allen (Profile)
ABOUT THE COURSE
I will reveal my bias here: I think the current debates over how the world was created are, as Ecclesiastes says, chasing after the wind. As the Buddha taught, the earth is here, why are we debating how, when and even, to some extent, why it came about? Should we instead be using creation as inspiration, as worship, as a motive for proper stewardship of the earth? Should we see how creation was used throughout the Bible as part of God’s greater revelation and purpose? Feel free to disagree! Just be able to back up your argument.
Demonstrate to me that you are aware of the nuances of the creation debate, that you see the different approaches and perspectives of Anderson and the collection of essays from Harker and Bunce. Answer the overall question of “So what?”
