This course is designed to acquaint (or re-acquaint) the student with the 1983 Code of Canon Law. Sacrae Disciplinae Leges answers many questions: 1) Why was the law revised? 2) Was the development of the new law collegial? 3) Is there a papal proclamation? 4) Is there a biblical precedent to the law? 5) Does law substitute for grace, charisms and charity? 6) Does the law correspond to the will of the Second Vatican Council? 7) Why may the law be called new? The ultimate goal of this tutorial is to learn familiarity with the Code by actual use.
