Pastoral Planning and Church Management
The concentration in pastoral planning and church management has been designed to provide church leaders, councils and staff members with the foundational skills needed to shape and guide the institutional objectives of their religious organization to achieve its desired pastoral mission. This online learning curriculum will develop an understanding of the core components of organizational planning processes in church settings. Students must complete the following ten courses:
- PCM 500: The Church Unconscious: Discerning the Hidden Motives and Expectations of Congregations
- PCM 501: Financial Decision Making and Risk Management
- PCM 502: Fundamentals of Pastoral Administration
- PCM 503: Fundamentals of Strategic Pastoral Planning
- PCM 504: Human Resource Management
- PCM 506: Multiple Parish Pastoring, Clustering and Reorganizing Churches: Planning Implications
- PCM 507: Pastoral Diagnostics: Understanding and Evaluating Pastoral Systems Church Dynamics
- PCM 508: Pastoral Leadership and Pastoral Management in Church Governance and Planning
- PCM 510: Task, Role and Authority: The Building Blocks of Effective Church Governance and Planning
- GTF elective
Students must also complete a Research Methodology writing assignment and develop a doctoral project.
