This Ph.D. concentration is designed for those interested in the academic and scholarly study of the origins and development of Christianity from the times of the Apostles through to the present with recognition of key time periods such as the Apostolic Church, the Patristics, the Middle Ages, the East/West Schism, the Renaissance, the Reformation, denominational histories, the Vatican Councils, and the contemporary Church. Students may choose to complete part or all of their coursework for this degree program during the Oxford University Theology Summer School.
